Plain-English on how this site makes money, and how that does — and does not — affect what you see.
CalculateThis.io is free to use. We keep it free two ways: we show ads, and some links to lenders, banks, and other partners are affiliate links. If you click one and then sign up or buy, we may earn a commission or a referral fee. You never pay more for using our link — the price and rates you get are the same either way.
An affiliate link is a tracked link. When you use it, the partner knows you came from us and pays us if you become a customer. This is a “material connection” under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules, so we tell you about it clearly, right next to the link, before you click — not just here on this page.
We mark these links so search engines and screen readers can see them too (they carry a sponsored tag).
When we list more than one lender or offer, we order them by which one fits you best — not by which one pays us the most. A bigger commission never buys a higher spot. This is both our policy and a rule the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) enforces.
CalculateThis.io is not a lender, bank, or broker. We do not make credit decisions or approve anyone for anything. We point you to lenders and partners; they decide their own rates and terms.
Our calculators and articles are for general information only. They are not financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. The numbers are estimates based on what you type in — your real rates and payments depend on your lender, your credit, and your terms. For a decision that matters, talk to a licensed professional.
We also show display ads from ad networks such as Google. Those networks pick most ads automatically, and we do not endorse what they show. Ads are kept separate from our calculator results and our editorial content.
